From the action-packed rodeo arena to Angola, the nation’s most notorious maximum security prison, to the Washington Restaurant Association’s fast-paced culinary competition, ProStart® Invitational, Frank Barnett has learned to quickly take in his surroundings and capture them in evocative photographs that tell a story. If you’re looking for an event photographer who can deliver memorable images to document your special occasion for marketing or publication, contact Frank to discuss your needs.
Photographer Frank Barnett photographed teams of students representing their state restaurant association's ProStart® Invitational program in Seattle, Washington. The three day event required photographing students in the commercial kitchen where the judging took place. Each team prepared three dishes: a starter, a main course and a dessert. Every dish was propped and photographed by Barnett. Then group portraits of all of the state’s competing teams were taken. Throughout the event, the culinary students and the photographer took off on daily city-wide photo sessions that included downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market and the wharf.
In April, 2009, Frank’s wife Sharan died from complications of Crohn’s disease. Since her death, the photographer has volunteered his services to photograph the annual fund-raising event in his city. This year was an amazing success in spite of the gray skies and rain. Hey, it’s Portland! Everyone who participated gave hope to the four million Americans who are living with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis.

For many years, Frank Barnett has been providing images to publications that beautifully portray Oregon’s prestigious wine industry. Van Duzer Vineyards of Dallas, Oregon. discovered his stunning images on line at the Oregon Wine Board’s web site and hired Frank to capture the vineyard’s 2011 Labor Day Blue Grass BBQ Festival. The sky was a clear blue, the temperature was a comfortable mid-80 and the wine, food, music and games all contributed to the event’s success.
